[Discussion] Dragon Age: The Veil Drops To 500P On PS5 Performance Mode For 60FPs

So, Dragon Age: The Veilguard is running at 500p on PS5—seriously? That’s like going back a generation in terms of visuals. Honestly, as much as I love this series, I’d rather they delay the game than release it in such a compromised state.

Yikes, 500p? Feels like we’re back in the early 2000s! I hope they find a better balance between performance and resolution.

Honestly, seeing a AAA game like Dragon Age: The Veilguard drop to 500P on PS5 to keep 60FPS is surprising. It’s great that it performs well on PC, but console players might feel a bit shortchanged here. With games aiming for next-gen graphics, it's disappointing to see such a low resolution on one of the main consoles.

It feels like devs are not optimizing their games for PC like they used to
its like they just leave it on the hardware to handle everything now

At the end of the day, this just highlights how demanding modern games are on consoles. If 500P is what it takes for a smooth 60FPS, that’s a tradeoff some players will be okay with. Others might prefer fidelity mode or just stick with PC for the best quality.

I think it's worth noting that the game doesn’t have DRM or microtransactions, which is rare nowadays. Even if the resolution on PS5 is taking a hit in performance mode, at least they didn’t load it with extras that could ruin the experience. This might make it more appealing to players who are tired of the usual AAA game baggage.
