As part of its focus on partner franchises, Remedy hopes to build a strong action game team. Max Payne is part of the same initiative since the franchise is owned by Rockstar Games. This studio is also funding the project and recently
allocated a bigger budget for the remakes. As per CEO Tero Virtala, the team is focused on both commercial success and reaching a high bar of quality for the remakes.
