I’m currently deciding between upgrading to a high refresh rate monitor (240Hz/360Hz) or switching to one of the newer 4k gaming monitors, and I’m honestly a bit confused about what’s the better choice in 2026.
I mostly play competitive games like Valorant and Warzone where smoothness and responsiveness matter a lot, but I also enjoy AAA titles where visuals really shine at higher resolutions.
From what I’ve seen, high refresh rate monitors still dominate in competitive gaming, but with GPUs getting stronger, 4K gaming is becoming more viable too.
So what would you guys recommend, stick with higher refresh rates or move towards better resolution? Is the visual upgrade from 4K worth sacrificing some FPS?
