Hey everyone,
I came across an interesting (and kind of frustrating) thread on Reddit today regarding Black Myth: Wukong. Apparently, the game isn't releasing on Xbox, and the reasons behind this decision have got me scratching my head.
According to the post, the developers decided to skip the Xbox release due to some technical limitations. Now, I’m not entirely sure what those limitations are, but it’s kind of surprising, isn’t it? I mean, both the Xbox Series X and the PS5 are pretty powerful machines, and it’s not like the Xbox can’t handle what the PS5 can. So, what gives?
Some people in the thread are speculating that this could be more of a business or strategic decision than a purely technical one. Maybe there’s some sort of exclusivity deal with Sony that we don’t know about? Or perhaps the developers just didn’t have the resources to optimize the game for both consoles and chose to focus on the platform they felt was a better fit.
It’s a real bummer for Xbox players, though. Black Myth: Wukong has been generating a ton of hype ever since those first gameplay trailers dropped. The game looks incredible—like a mix of Sekiro and Dark Souls but with a unique Chinese mythology twist. I was really looking forward to seeing it run on the Xbox Series X’s hardware, especially with its capabilities in 4K and high frame rates.
But hey, this could all change, right? Maybe if there’s enough demand, the developers might reconsider and work on an Xbox version down the line. Or maybe Microsoft needs to step in and do some negotiating to bring this game over.
