I'm really torn between Gen4 andd Gen5 SSDs. I've heard that using Gen5 means I'll be taking channels from GPU.. is it true for all motherboards? What would you guys recommend?
It varies. On my Z790 board, using a PCIe 5.0 NVMe drive in the PCIe 5.0 slot diverts lanes from the GPU slot. Your board doesn't seem to have this issue.
There's no significant practical performance difference between NVMe drives in gaming, whether they're PCIe 3.0 or 4.0, and certainly not between 4.0 and 5.0.
