Hey Civ fans,

Great news—Civilization 6 just got rid of its frustrating 2K launcher! If that wasn’t good enough, they also announced that Civilization 7 won't have a launcher at all, so no more launching the game twice for no reason. It's awesome to see 2K listening to the community on this one.

What are your thoughts? Did the launcher bug you as much as it did me?

This is great news! The launcher was always more of an annoyance than anything else. It’s refreshing to see a company actually listen to its player base and make changes that improve the experience. Civilization 6 is a game I’ve sunk countless hours into, and not having to deal with a cumbersome launcher will make the experience even smoother. I hope this decision carries over into Civilization 7 and beyond. Maybe this will encourage other developers to rethink the necessity of their own launchers.
 
Compared to other games that still have clunky launchers, this is a breath of fresh air. Why can’t more developers follow suit?
