Hideaki Itsuno, the developer credited for much of Devil May Cry's success, left Capcom last year. Following his departure, he began working on a completely original action IP, even hiring several veteran developers who had worked alongside him at Capcom. Since Hideaki Itsuno's next release is set to be an action game, comparisons with Devil May Cry were also inevitable, and the director was recently asked to comment on potential competition with his own work. He holds Devil May Cry 5 in high regard and believes competing with the title will prove to be challenging.
