Steam's popular rival, GOG, has recently taken to Twitter to mock Steam over only selling game licenses. The post announced that GOG would also be adding a new banner on its checkout page, boasting about its offline game installers that gamers can own forever without worries.

Honestly, GOG has a point. Having the option to download offline installers is a big deal for people who want to truly own their games. Steam should really consider offering something similar.
 
This is why I prefer GOG for older titles. Steam is great, but I hate the idea that my access to a game could be revoked. Owning the files and playing offline whenever I want is a huge plus!
