In 2005, Intel's then-CEO Paul Otellini proposed acquiring Nvidia for around $20 billion, believing its technology could be crucial for data centers and AI.
However, Intel's board rejected the idea due to concerns about cost and integration, choosing to focus on its own internal graphics projects, like Larabee.
Today, Nvidia is worth over $3 trillion.
