I get where Neil is coming from, but I'd argue that Bloodborne's story is very much present—just not in your face. It's all about digging into the lore and connecting the dots, which makes the narrative feel more personal and immersive.
 
Neil Druckmann has a point that mood is key in Bloodborne, but I wouldn't say the story is weak. The way FromSoftware weaves lore into the environment and item descriptions makes for a unique storytelling style that's just as important as the gameplay.
 
I think Druckmann might be missing the point here. Bloodborne and other Soulsborne games have deeply rich stories, but they're told in a more subtle way. It's not about traditional storytelling, but piecing together lore and atmosphere through exploration.
