As stated by president Shuntaro Furukawa, the Nintendo Switch successor will support software from the original console. This confirms backward compatibility, at least for digital libraries. Shuntaro Furukawa also confirmed that Nintendo Switch Online will make a return. Looking at these two statements, all signs point to the company continuing with a similar ecosystem that was established during the last generation.
