Following losses and a damaged reputation with the PS3, this console quickly established Sony as the leader of the gaming industry, giving it incredible momentum that carried on into the PS5 generation. The PS4 is still the console of choice for millions of gamers, but it seems Sony is finally ready to bid the hardware farewell. After over 10 years, the company has discontinued shipments of the console in Japan.
