The Twisted Metal franchise was rumored to receive a new game from PlayStation in the near future, but reports revealed that the project was cancelled amid layoffs and several unsuccessful live-service releases. Still, the IP continues to live on through Paramount's live-service adaptation, which is set to receive its third season soon. Discussing the future of Twisted Metal, one of the series' lead actors has also expressed interest in another game for the IP.
