In a new interview, the game producer and director, Yuji Nakao, has confirmed that Ninja Gaiden 4 certainly won't go easy on the difficulty. It will be strongly influenced by Ninja Gaiden 2.

I'm just glad we have a new Ninja Gaiden. Everything else is a bonus at this point, but it's good to see them keeping the difficulty intact.
