Nostalgia definitely plays a huge role! I remember playing Red Dead Redemption 1 when it first came out, and it blew my mind. But replaying it recently, I can see the flaws more clearly. It's still a great game, but not the masterpiece I once thought it was.

I played Red Dead Redemption 2 first and then went back to the original. I agree that the story and characters felt less engaging in the first game. Dutch, in particular, deserved more screen time. It’s hard to connect with the characters when you don’t know their backgrounds.
