External Hard Drive Not Recognized

Hey guys,

I’m having trouble with my external hard drive. When I plug it into my computer, it doesn’t show up in File Explorer. I’ve tried different USB ports and cables, but still no luck.

Any tips on how to get my computer to recognize it?

First, try checking if the drive shows up in Disk Management. Right-click on the Start menu and select "Disk Management." If it appears there, you might just need to assign it a drive letter. If it doesn’t show up at all, it could be a power issue, especially if it's a larger drive. Try plugging it into a powered USB hub or directly into a different computer to see if it gets recognized.
 
Right-click the Start menu, go to Device Manager, and see if there’s an unrecognized device or something under “Universal Serial Bus controllers.” If you find it, right-click and try updating the driver or uninstalling and then plugging the hard drive back in.
