External Monitor Detected but Stays Black

Hey everyone,

I have a Dell Inspiron laptop, and I'm trying to connect it to an ASUS VP249QGR monitor. Windows detects the monitor just fine, and I can set it to extend or duplicate the display, but the external monitor stays black/blank no matter what I do.

I've matched the resolutions to 1920x1080 for both (even though the laptop's recommended resolution is 1366x768). The laptop's refresh rate is 60Hz, and the external monitor is also set to 60Hz.

Any ideas on how to fix this? Any help would be super appreciated!

Have you tried using a different HDMI or DisplayPort cable? Sometimes a faulty cable can cause issues like this. Also, double-check that the input source on your ASUS monitor is set correctly to the port you're using (HDMI or DisplayPort).

Try to go into Device Manager, find your display adapters, and right-click to update the drivers.
