Hi,
So, I just read that the creative director of Helldivers 2 thinks it’s a better and "sillier" world when physics bugs can kill you for something like jumping past the wrong lamppost. Apparently, realism isn’t the priority here, and honestly, I’m kinda torn about it.
On one hand, I totally get where they’re coming from. Some of the best (or at least funniest) moments in gaming come from ridiculous bugs that catch you off guard. The chaos can add to the fun when you're just laughing at how absurd it is. But on the other hand, I feel like if a game gets too random with stuff like that, it could get annoying real fast. Dying because of a glitch or weird physics interaction over and over? Yeah, that might kill the vibe.
That said, I do appreciate that they’re not taking the "everything must be super realistic" approach. Sometimes games get too caught up in trying to be ultra-accurate, and it takes away from the fun. Helldivers has always been about mayhem and co-op madness, so maybe this is just part of that charm?
