Installed 80GB mSATA SSD, But Windows Only Shows 10GB

Hey everyone,

I’m having a weird issue with my laptop. I installed an 80GB mSATA SSD to use just as a boot drive. Everything seemed fine during the install—the BIOS shows it as 80GB. But once I boot up to Windows, it only shows the SSD as 10GB, and I can’t extend the volume or anything.

Anyone know how to fix this? Any help would be awesome!

Thanks!

Hey! That sounds annoying. Have you checked Disk Management in Windows? Sometimes the drive needs to be partitioned correctly. Open Disk Management, right-click on the unallocated space, and see if you can extend or create a new partition.

Oh, I’ve had something similar happen before! Try using a third-party partition tool like MiniTool Partition Wizard. It’s usually more flexible than Windows’ built-in tools. Also, make sure there’s no hidden recovery partition taking up space.
