Lords of the Fallen Sequel Production Update – Thoughts?

Hey,
So, it looks like we’re finally getting some concrete info about the Lords of the Fallen sequel. I gotta admit, I have mixed feelings. On one hand, I’m excited because the original had some serious potential with its dark, gritty vibes and challenging combat. But on the other hand, I feel like it never fully hit the mark compared to other souls-like games.

I’m hoping the sequel addresses the clunkiness and pacing issues. Anyone else think they can pull it off this time? Or is this just another “wait and see” situation? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Honestly, I hope they fix the clunky combat from the first game—it was a bit frustrating.

The first Lords of the Fallen definitely had its moments, but the pacing was a real issue for me. I remember getting into it at first, but then certain sections felt like they dragged on forever without offering much in terms of new gameplay. If the sequel can manage better pacing—maybe with more dynamic events or quicker transitions between levels—it’ll definitely hold my attention longer. Also, fingers crossed for better character customization options. I felt really limited in the original game.

I really want to believe in this sequel, but I can’t ignore the flaws of the first game. The original Lords of the Fallen had potential—it had a cool art style and some interesting world-building—but the combat system felt too clunky, and the game wasn’t as tight as other Souls-like titles. It was almost there but never fully hit the mark. I hope they focus on refining the combat and making the world feel more alive this time around.

I’m excited, but I also think we should temper our expectations a bit. I remember when Lords of the Fallen was hyped up as a true Souls competitor, but the execution just wasn’t there. The story was kinda flat, and the combat didn’t feel as fluid as I wanted. If they can nail those core elements this time, I think the game has the potential to stand out. But honestly,

I think they should take inspiration from Elden Ring’s open-world elements. A more expansive, less linear design could really elevate the experience.
