Need Help Syncing External Camera and Microphone on Mac

Hey guys,

I’ve got an external camera and microphone hooked up to my Apple computer. Everything works fine, except there’s a noticeable delay between the audio and video when I record or during video calls. I’m looking for an easy and free way to delay the microphone a bit to sync it with the video.

I’ve done some research, but most of the posts I found are from like four years ago and pretty outdated. Anyone have any fresh ideas or solutions for this? Would really appreciate any help!

I totally get how annoying that can be. Have you tried using OBS Studio? It’s free and has options to sync audio and video. You can add a delay to your microphone input under the Audio settings. Might take a bit of tweaking, but it’s pretty user-friendly!

Another option could be to use QuickTime Player for recording. You can adjust the audio delay in post-production with iMovie, which comes pre-installed on Macs. Not as smooth as real-time sync, but it’s free and should help with your issue.
