Hey everyone,
So, I just stumbled upon this wild new game announcement from Harebrained Schemes (you know, the brains behind the Shadowrun series and BATTLETECH). It’s their first game since splitting from Paradox, and honestly, it sounds like they’re going all out with this one!
The game’s a survival horror RPG, which isn't too surprising given their previous work, but here’s the twist: you can literally blast the limbs off your enemies and then attach them to yourself. Yeah, you read that right. Want a new arm? Just take one from that zombie you just fought off. Need a boost in speed? Grab a pair of legs from that creepy crawler. It’s like some crazy Frankenstein meets Resident Evil, with a hint of dark humor thrown in.
Personally, I think this is a pretty unique take on the survival horror genre. We’ve seen games where you can loot or craft weapons, but becoming a sort of customizable monster yourself? That’s some next-level stuff. I’m all for innovative mechanics that shake up the standard gameplay loops we’re all used to.
What do you all think? Are you intrigued by the idea of literally piecing yourself together from the remains of your enemies? Or does it sound a bit too over the top for your taste? I’m curious if this mechanic will be more of a gimmick or if it’ll actually add a strategic depth to the gameplay.
Also, I have to say, I’m pretty interested in how they’ll handle the story and world-building. Harebrained Schemes has always been pretty good at crafting compelling narratives and worlds, so I’m optimistic. But with this kind of body-horror mechanic, it could go in a lot of different directions—some I’m excited about, others... maybe not so much.
Anyways, here’s the article I found that goes into more detail if you want to check it out
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
Cheers!

Harebrained reveals its first game following split from Paradox: A survival-horror RPG where you blast limbs off your enemies and then attach them to your own body
It's called Graft, which seems appropriate.
