PC Display Issue with Blu-ray Player on HDMI 2

Hey everyone,

I'm writing on behalf of a friend who's having some trouble with his setup. He has his PC connected to a Blu-ray player on HDMI 2, but every time he turns on the PC and switches to HDMI 2, there's no display. He has to turn the Blu-ray player, TV, and PC on and off several times before the display finally shows up, which ends up taking around 30 minutes.

Does anyone know why this might be happening or how to fix it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

That sounds really annoying. It might be an HDMI handshake issue between the PC, Blu-ray player, and TV. First thing to try is swapping out the HDMI cable with a different one, preferably one that’s high speed and supports the latest HDMI standards. Another trick is to make sure all your devices have the latest firmware updates. Also, you might want to try turning on the devices in a specific order, like TV first, then Blu-ray, then PC.

I’ve run into similar issues before, and it’s usually related to the HDMI handshake. One thing to check is the input settings on your TV. Make sure the HDMI port your PC is connected to is set to the right input type (sometimes labeled as “PC” or “Game”). Also, if your TV has an “HDMI-CEC” setting, try turning it off—it can sometimes cause weird connection issues. or try connecting the PC directly to the TV without the Blu-ray player to see if that changes anything.
