PC Taking Much Longer to Start Up

Recently, my PC started taking significantly longer to boot up. It used to take just seconds to get to the Windows login screen, but now it takes a few minutes. This slowdown happened suddenly. Despite this, the PC runs fine once it's fully started.

I ran a check on my drives with the "wmic diskdrive get status" command in CMD, and both drives are reported as "OK".

What could be causing this issue, and how can I resolve it?

Some details about my PC:
  • Windows 11 Pro
  • Boot drive: CRUCIAL 1TB SSD
  • CPU: i5 11600K
  • 16GB RAM

Hey @joannes33, a slow startup despite having an SSD can be due to several reasons. I suggest you try these steps:
  1. Open the Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc), go to the Startup tab, and disable unnecessary startup programs.
  2. Run a full system scan with your antivirus software. Additionally, you can use a tool like Malwarebytes to check for malware.
  3. Make sure your Windows is up to date. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and check for updates.
  4. Consider any recent hardware changes or software installation and try reversing them to see if the issue resolves.
