Hey!
So, I just stumbled across some news that could shake things up in the VR space. It looks like there’s a new kid on the block—the Pico 4 Ultra headset. It’s being touted as a serious competitor to the Meta Quest 3, which has kinda been the big cheese in the standalone VR world lately.
From what I’ve read, the Pico 4 Ultra has some pretty impressive specs: better resolution, a wider field of view, and supposedly better comfort for those long sessions. Plus, they’re promising some top-tier content to rival the Quest’s lineup. Sounds good, right? But here’s the catch—it's only gonna be available in select countries. Like, seriously? Talk about a buzzkill.
I get they’re probably testing the waters and don’t wanna go all in before seeing how it performs, but still, kinda feels like a missed opportunity. If they want to take on Meta and grab a slice of that VR market pie, they’re gonna need a wider rollout. Otherwise, how can they expect to build a solid user base? Especially when the Quest 3 is everywhere and already has a massive library of games and apps.
That being said, I’m actually pretty excited to see some real competition. The VR space has been a bit of a one-horse race with Meta leading the charge. A new player with solid hardware could push everyone to step up their game, which is a win for us as gamers. More choices, more innovation, better prices—what’s not to love?
But I’m curious—anyone here planning to get their hands on a Pico 4 Ultra if it’s available in your country? Do you think it’s got what it takes to give the Quest 3 a run for its money, or is this just another flash in the pan? Personally, I’m holding out a bit longer before jumping on board—wanna see if it lives up to the hype.

The new Pico 4 Ultra headset could challenge Meta Quest 3's VR dominance, but only if your country makes the shortlist
Did the place you live make the list?
