PS5 Pro Reveal Gets Major Hate – Is the Upgrade Even Worth It?

Heyy,
So, I just read that the PS5 Pro reveal is getting tons of hate online, and it’s apparently now one of the most disliked reveals ever. 😬 Honestly, I kinda get it. Like, I’m sitting here thinking, do we really need a Pro version this soon? The base PS5 is barely three years old, and most people still can’t even get their hands on one without a major hassle or paying insane prices.

From what I’ve seen, the PS5 Pro doesn’t look like it’s offering anything groundbreaking, just some beefed-up specs that most casual gamers won’t even notice. I feel like they could’ve waited a bit longer and made some major advancements instead of just a small performance boost.

Plus, who’s really asking for this right now? Games are already running great on the PS5, and with the focus still being on cross-gen titles, it doesn’t seem like developers are pushing the hardware to its limits yet. I get that they want to keep up with the competition and all, but with the economy the way it is, are people really gonna drop more cash on an upgraded console when most are just fine with what they’ve got?

I get why people are upset. We’re barely three years into the PS5 lifecycle, and most players still don’t have one due to stock shortages or high prices. Releasing a Pro version feels like Sony’s out of touch with their audience. Sure, some gamers care about the extra specs, but how many will actually take advantage of them? Plus, when most titles are still being designed for both generations, does the PS5 Pro really offer anything substantial? Honestly, I'd prefer if they’d focus on making games that push the base PS5 before releasing a beefed-up version.

Is the Pro version really necessary? I feel like Sony is just milking the hype when they could focus on better games for the existing PS5.

It’s not just the timing, but the fact that the PS5 still hasn’t been fully pushed to its limits by developers yet. A Pro version feels premature when we haven’t seen what the base version is truly capable of. I understand why Sony’s doing it—competition and future-proofing—but right now, it just comes off as unnecessary.

With people still struggling to get their hands on a regular PS5, adding another tier to the lineup could alienate fans. I'd rather see more groundbreaking games that maximize the hardware we already have.

I can kinda see why Sony’s doing this, but honestly, I’d rather see them focus on exclusive titles instead of a console upgrade. Is the market even ready?

Why would I drop more cash on this when the PS5 still works like a dream? Unless you're super obsessed with frame rates, the upgrade seems pointless.
