Should I get Ryzen 7 5800X or 5600X

Hey everyone, I'm upgrading my PC and can't decide between the Ryzen 7 5800X and Ryzen 5 5600X. I mainly game at 1440p. I'm wondering if the extra cores and threads of the 5800X are worth the higher price for future-proofing or if the 5600X would be sufficient. Also, how are the thermals and power consumption on the 5800X?

The 5800X will run hotter and you would need good cooling with it, but the performance is worth it
