State of Decay 3 Now Top Priority for Undead Labs—What Are You Hoping For?

Hey everyone,

So, it looks like Undead Labs is officially moving on from "State of Decay 2" and putting all their energy into "State of Decay 3"! Just read an article on IGN about it, and it’s got me both excited and a little anxious. On one hand, it's great to see they’re finally focusing on the next chapter, but on the other hand, it makes me wonder what they have up their sleeves. 🤔

"State of Decay 2" was fun, but let's be real—it had its fair share of issues, especially with bugs and the graphics feeling a bit dated even at launch. I’m hoping they take their time with this one and really polish it up. Imagine a "State of Decay" game with next-gen graphics, better AI, and maybe even a more fleshed-out story. That would be sick!

Also, I wonder if they’re going to stick with the same formula or if they’ll mix things up a bit. Maybe add more survival elements or a more dynamic world that changes based on your decisions? What do you all think? What are you hoping to see in "State of Decay 3"?

And for those of you who are still playing "State of Decay 2," do you think they’re leaving the game in a good place, or does it feel like they’re cutting and running to focus on the next shiny thing? 🤷‍♂️

State of Decay 2 had some rough edges, but it was fun. For 3, I’d love to see deeper character development. I’m tired of feeling like the survivors are just random NPCs!

A next-gen State of Decay could be amazing, but they really need to balance the survival mechanics better. In 2, it felt like scavenging for supplies was either way too easy or way too hard. They need to find that sweet spot. Plus, I’m hoping for some meaningful weather effects. Imagine dealing with a zombie horde during a thunderstorm or snowfall—it could make for some really tense moments! And more randomized events would definitely keep things fresh.

I still play State of Decay 2 sometimes, but it always feels like it’s lacking something. If they add more dynamic storylines in the third game, that could be a game-changer. I want to feel like my choices actually matter, not just with my group but with the world around me. Will we see factions that evolve based on our actions? I really hope so. Also, they NEED to make the combat tighter. It’s fun, but it can be clunky when it matters most, especially in multiplayer.
