Taskbar Unresponsive & Repeated Login Issues

Hey everyone,

So, something really strange happened with my Windows 11 PC today. When I tried logging in, it seemed to work at first—the desktop started loading—but then, suddenly, it kicked me back to the login screen.

I'm starting to worry that my PC might be infected with malware or something. As a precaution, I unplugged the network cable. My antivirus, SOPHOS Home, didn't find anything during a full scan, and I also ran scans with SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what did you find out and how did you fix it?
 
It sounds frustrating! Try booting into Safe Mode by holding Shift while clicking Restart on the login screen, then choose Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart. Once in Safe Mode, check for any suspicious programs or recent updates and uninstall them. If that doesn't help, try creating a new user account from Safe Mode and see if you can log in normally with that one.
