Which Is A Better Upgrade From RTX 2060 - RX 6800 Or RTX 7700 XT?

Hello everyone, I hope you all are having a great day.

I got this PC off of Facebook marketplace some time ago, it has an RTX 2060 and a 5700X. As I am told, my graphics card is not that great at all.

I have saved up some money and narrowed down my upgrade options to the RX 7700 XT and RX 6800.

I am not sure which one is better.

The RX 7700 XT came out recently so that is good, but the RX 6800 has more RAM.

Would appreciate if you guys could vote and comment down your thoughts on the two GPUs.

The performance is neck to neck for most cases. The 7700 Xt pulls ahead in Ray Tracing
 
The 7700 XT offers AV1 Encoder.
So if you are after streaming i would suggest the 7700 XT any day

But just for gaming, the 6800 is good too
 
For most gaming, it really doesnt matter, both GPUs offer very similar performance.

I would personally go with the 7700 XT to get the extra Ray Tracing headroom.
 
Whatever you get dont forget a 1440p monitor please, many people these days go for good cards but cheap out with a 1080p screen
