Xbox Game Port for Enotria: The Last Song Delayed Indefinitely – Is Microsoft Dropping the Ball?

Hey everyone,

I just came across some frustrating news that I wanted to share and get your thoughts on. It looks like the port for the highly anticipated game, Enotria: The Last Song, to Xbox has been delayed indefinitely, and the reason? According to the devs, it’s all because of Microsoft's unresponsiveness. Yep, you read that right.

Apparently, the dev team behind Enotria: The Last Song has been trying to get things moving, but Microsoft’s been ghosting them—no replies, no updates, just radio silence. Like, how does that even happen? We’re talking about a huge company here with all the resources in the world, and they can’t even keep up with basic communication? If I were one of those devs, I’d be pulling my hair out right now.

This whole situation raises a lot of questions for me. First off, what does this mean for other indie devs trying to bring their games to Xbox? If Microsoft’s this unresponsive with a game that people are actually excited about, what does that say about their support for smaller or lesser-known titles? It’s no secret that the indie scene has been booming lately, and this kinda makes me wonder if Xbox is slowly losing its appeal as a platform for these developers.

On top of that, what does this mean for us, the players? We’re the ones left hanging here, waiting for Enotria: The Last Song to finally drop on Xbox, but now who knows if that’s ever going to happen. It’s just disappointing, especially when you think about how much Xbox has been pushing Game Pass and trying to position itself as the go-to place for gaming.

I don’t know, maybe I’m just venting, but it feels like Microsoft needs to get their act together, or they’re gonna start losing the trust of both developers and gamers. What do you all think? Is this just a one-off situation, or is it part of a bigger problem with how Xbox is handling things lately? And how do you think this delay is going to impact the future of Enotria: The Last Song?

I think the indefinite delay is a bigger issue than it appears. It reflects poorly on Microsoft's ability to manage and support a diverse game portfolio, particularly indie games. It makes me wonder if they are too focused on major AAA titles and not paying enough attention to the smaller, more niche games that can build a dedicated player base. This delay also affects consumer confidence. If Microsoft wants to maintain a strong reputation, they need to be transparent about what’s causing these delays and commit to supporting all types of games on their platform.

I feel like the game had potential, but Square Enix didn't really support it the way it needed to be. The updates were infrequent, and the content got stale pretty quickly. And let's not forget the microtransactions—they were a bit over the top. Maybe if they focused more on the core Final Fantasy elements and less on the battle royale aspect, things could’ve been different.
