Hey everyone,
I just came across some exciting news that Yakuza Kiwami is finally making its way to the Nintendo Switch! Sega's classic is set to release on November 22 in Japan, and while there's no word on a global release just yet, this is still a pretty big deal.
For those who might not know, Yakuza Kiwami is a remake of the original Yakuza game from 2005, and it's got everything you'd want from an action-adventure game: a compelling story, intricate characters, and that sweet mix of serious drama and quirky side missions. I mean, where else can you go from beating up gangsters to singing your heart out at a karaoke bar in the same game?
As a huge fan of the series, I've been waiting for the Yakuza games to hit the Switch for a while now. The Switch's portability seems perfect for a game like this—imagine being able to take Kiryu's epic story on the go. Plus, the game has always been known for its rich storytelling and dynamic combat system, which I think will fit well with the Switch's controls.
That said, I do have some concerns. Porting a game with such detailed graphics and extensive content to the Switch could be tricky. We all know the Switch isn't exactly a powerhouse compared to other consoles. So, I'm curious about how well it'll run and whether they'll have to make any compromises in terms of graphics or performance. Still, if Sega can pull it off, this could be a fantastic addition to the Switch library.
But what I'm really hoping for is that this isn't a one-off deal. If Yakuza Kiwami does well, it could open the door for more Yakuza games to come to the Switch. I'd love to see Yakuza 0 or even Yakuza: Like a Dragon make the jump.
What do you all think? Are you excited about this release? Do you think the Switch can handle the game's demands, or are we in for some rough performance issues? And what other Yakuza games would you want to see on the Switch?
