Several months after its release, Doom: The Dark Ages remains notorious as one of 2025's most intensive PC releases. The game even spurred debates about the diminishing gains in graphics brought about by the use of mandatory ray tracing. This also meant that running Doom: The Dark Ages was a tall order for all handhelds, with the likes of the Steam Deck being incapable of handling the title. Fortunately, the upcoming ROG Xbox Ally X seems to deviate from the trend, offering 70FPS gameplay at 1080p with ray tracing.
