PlayStation's physical disc cancellation for 2028 has raised more than a few eyebrows, especially since recent evidence shows that there is still quite a lot of demand for physical media. Games like Resident Evil Requiem and Astro Bot previously sold nearly 50% of all units via physical discs in various regions. The newly-released Marvel's Wolverine appears to have followed a similar trajectory, selling over 30% of its copies as discs.
