Not gonna lie, I agree with Mahler on this one. Veilguard's writing felt like they were aiming for epic but landed somewhere in high school drama club. Still, it's Dragon Age, so I'm biased enough to enjoy it anyway!

Bruh, Mahler's not holding back! I mean, 'infantile and terrible'? Shots fired! Love it when devs call each other out, but honestly, Veilguard's story wasn't *that* bad.

Mahler calling Veilguard's writing terrible? Bold, especially coming from someone outside BioWare's world. Sure, Veilguard had its cringe moments, but it's more ambitious than a lot of RPGs out there. The writing may not be for everyone, but hey, at least it's stirring up all kinds of debates—and that's gotta mean something, right?

Reading this, I can’t help but think that Ori’s director has a really high bar for storytelling—maybe that's why Ori feels so heartfelt and unique. Dragon Age could definitely use a bit more of that emotional depth, especially in its side characters.

Dragon Age’s writing style has always been divisive. While I personally love the deep lore, I’ll admit that some characters feel a bit like they’re following a set path rather than reacting genuinely. Maybe Ori’s director is on to something, but not sure everyone wants a dramatic shift.

Moon Studios’ CEO definitely isn’t holding back with his critique! It’s a rare thing to see one creator openly address another game’s flaws like this. Personally, I think Ori’s style works because it’s simple and character-focused, which makes every moment feel intimate. But Dragon Age, with its epic, sprawling world, can’t really match that kind of personal depth without changing its core. This critique might make sense for some, but fans love DA for what it is—an expansive RPG with tons of lore and a variety of perspectives. If it tried to be more like Ori, it might lose some of its magic.
