My New Laptop’s Screen Brightness Isn’t Working

Hey everyone,

I just got a new laptop, and for some reason, the screen brightness controls aren’t working at all. It’s stuck at one level, and it’s driving me crazy.

Has anyone else had this issue with a new laptop? If you’ve got any tips or tricks to get the brightness controls working, I’d really appreciate it!

I had a similar problem with my new laptop. The brightness control stopped working after a Windows update. What worked for me was rolling back the display driver. Go to Device Manager, find your display adapter, right-click, and select Properties. Go to the Driver tab and click on Roll Back Driver. If that doesn’t work, try updating to the latest driver from the manufacturer’s website. Also, make sure Adaptive Brightness is turned off. Another thing that helped was resetting the power plan settings to default. This article has some great tips.
